The vast audiences at blues happenings indicate that there is a solid base of blues lovers in Finland. Visitors to Finland in 2006 include B.B. King, Buddy Guy and Albert Lee – the country surely does not belong to blues periphery. There has, however, been a lack of active Finnish internet services – this is the demand that Blues-Finland.com aims to satisfy. Hopefully the blues bug hits a few younger persons, too.

Finnish Blues Site Opened

Blues-Finland.com is an active, up-to-date blues site in Finnish. The official opening day of the site is Monday, 11 September 2006.

A Finnish blues site has been opened at Blues-Finland.com. The purpose of the site is to offer news from Finland and abroad. A central goal is also to maintain a comprehensive blues events calendar, including festivals and concerts around Finland. In other words, Blues-Finland.com intends to hit the current core of this fine form of music.

In addition, there will be available more extensive articles, album and concert reviews as well as other deeper and hopefully more entertaining material.

A chat forum called Talkin’ Blues is provided as an extra. Blues lovers can express their thoughts on blues, other music genres or wholly free topics there. Blues-Finland.com also offers an RSS feed, which can be utilised in following latest updates on the site. It is compatible with RSS readers and Mozilla Firefox’s live bookmarks.
