| Gov't Mule, Hunter, Hooks to Star at Lakeside 26 February 2009 Finland's largest blues festival will be arranged for the 32nd time in the end of June. Five days will feature more than 100 artists, with tailor-made program for grown-ups and kids alike. The 32nd edition of the Lakeside Blues Festival will be headlined by blues-rock greats Gov't Mule. Other stars include James Hunter and Ellis Hooks. The main concert, a picnic-type event, will take place in the Finnish city of Jarvenpaa on Saturday, 27 June. Gov't Mule is undisputedly one of the biggest names in blues-rock. Captained by Warren Haynes, the group will perform in Finland for the first time. Haynes is remembered by many as a guitarist of the legendary Allman Brothers Band. The latest albums of Gov't Mule are the matchingly-named "Mighty High" (2007) and "High and Mighty" (2006). James Hunter is known to be soulful singer. His powerful singing can be enjoyed on "The Hard Way", his cd from last year. Ellis Hooks, again, has earned his place in the soul/blues scene with a little help from his five albums -- "Another Saturday Morning" (2007) is the newest in line. Festival chief Jouni Hyytiainen is very satisfied. "Gov't Mule has been on the top of our wanted list for many years now. James Hunter and Ellis Hooks are much anticipated as well. The line-up, in our opinion, is very good. The main concert traditionally kicks off with a Finnish artist, and the name will be announced soon." The readers of Blues-Finland.com voted Lakeside (Puistoblues) the best blues festival in Finland in 2008. Of all music happenings in Finland, Lakeside ranks as the fourth largest -- last year's five-day event gathered no less than 120.000 visitors. The Lakeside Blues Festival is generally rated as one of the leading blues festivals in Europe. The main concert is supported by masses of concerts at clubs and on street stages. Total number of performers is estimated to exceed one hundred. A special kids' program will be available as usual.
